Learn more about Me!
I completed my undergraduate degree in 2014 from Stony Brook University, where I earned a BA in Anthropology. While there, I was also a 4-year starter on the women’s volleyball team. Over four seasons, I was named the 2010 America East and Stony Brook Athletics Rookie of the Year and earned a pair of First Team All-Conference selections. Going into my senior year, I had my first major experience with physical therapy, as I had to recover from an ACL tear. This led me down the road of pursuing a physical therapy degree, but not before a couple of pit stops along the way.
After graduating college, I got the opportunity to play volleyball professionally for two seasons abroad in Germany, for SCU Emlichheim - in the second Bundesliga. Over my two seasons in Emlichheim, I received eight MVP of the match nods, and was later pre-selected to the 30th anniversary SCU All-Stars team. My career in Germany came to an end after my second season, as I was accepted into PT school.
Upon my acceptance to PT school, I then moved to Salisbury, MD, where I pursued my Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree for the next 3 years at University of Maryland, Eastern Shore. At UMES, I was also a volunteer assistant coach for the volleyball team, and helped lead them to a second place finish in the MEAC North, and two appearances in the conference quarterfinals.
In November 2021, I became fully employed as a licensed PT at a Sports & Orthopedic outpatient clinic in Columbia, MD. After two years of working in the Columbia/Baltimore area with active individuals ranging from middle/high school athletes to NCAA athletes and weekend warriors, I got married and moved to the Stafford area to continue my career within the sports and orthopedic specialty.
While I enjoy many aspects of PT, my heart lies with working in sports/orthopedics. It was my own injuries as a volleyball player for 15 years, those of my teammates and my involvement in several other sports that initially sparked my interest in the sports medicine field - eventually leading me down the path to become a physical therapist.
My hobbies include traveling, coaching and playing volleyball, watching YouTube and hanging out with my family and friends
